Geese are naturally covered in feathers, with dense velvet down and a thick layer of subcutaneous fat that helps them adapt to cold climates and resist heat. However, during the hot summer months, the intense heat can be extremely stressful for geese. First, raising the pens by about 2 meters above the ground and installing white foam panels (1.5 to 2.5 cm thick) as ceilings can significantly lower the temperature inside the housing by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. This insulation helps block heat from entering the space.
