Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? Our little Skylar arrived earlier than expected, and let me tell you—he was absolutely ready to meet us! We got to the hospital right around 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, and by 8:42 a.m., he was already in our arms. It was surreal, magical, and honestly, everything we could have hoped for. Everyone is doing great so far—Skylar, me, and the older kids too. They were beyond excited to meet their new sibling! We’ve been spending as much time as possible just cuddling him and soaking up every single moment. He’s such a calm little guy, but man, does he make the most adorable little noises! Watching our older kids interact with him has been nothing short of heartwarming. They’re already so protective and gentle with him, which gives me so much hope for their future bond. It feels like time is flying by, but at the same time, it’s like we’re savoring every second. The past few days have been a whirlwind of emotions—nerves, excitement, joy, exhaustion—but all of it is worth it. There’s something truly special about holding your newborn baby for the first time and realizing how tiny and perfect they are. I keep thinking back to when we posted about his arrival on Instagram, and now I’m sitting here reflecting on how surreal it all still feels. It’s funny how life changes in an instant, isn’t it? One minute you’re preparing for one thing, and the next, everything shifts completely. Skylar’s older siblings have been amazing—they’ve been helping out wherever they can, and it’s clear they adore him already. I love watching them take turns holding him, cooing over his tiny hands and feet, and even trying to “teach†him things (which is hilarious because he’s not quite there yet!). But honestly, I don’t think anyone is getting tired of holding him anytime soon. As we prepare to bring him home and officially welcome him into our family of five, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude.
