Antibiotic:
A drug used to treat bacterial infections. Antibiotics have no effect on viral
infections. Originally, an antibiotic was a substance produced by one
microorganism that selectively inhibits the growth of another. Synthetic
antibiotics, usually chemically related to natural antibiotics, have since been
produced that accomplish comparable tasks.
Antimicrobial:
A drug used to treat a microbial infection(antibiotic drugs).
"Antimicrobial"
is a general term that refers to a group of drugs that includes antibiotics,
antifungals, antiprotozoals, and antivirals.

Late Cultivation Techniques of U.S. Supersweet Corn
"U.S. Gold Super Sweet Corn is a high-quality variety known for its compact plant structure, tender and sweet kernels, crisp texture, full ears, high yield, and early maturity. It is one of the latest agricultural innovations introduced by our town this year. The town has already started planting over 300 mu (approximately 50 acres), with an expected yield of more than 1,000 kilograms per mu. Sowing takes place in two batches in July, and the economic returns are significant, making it a highly promising crop for local farmers.
First, choose a suitable field with loose, deep, and fertile soil that allows for good drainage and irrigation.
Second, seedling cultivation:
1. Seedbed preparation: The seedbed should be 1 to 1.2 meters wide, with ditches 0.15 to 0.2 meters wide. The surface should be slightly flat and shaped like a turtle's back. Approximately 35 to 40 square meters of seedbed is required per acre.
2. Pseudo-nutrient cup nursery: Use rich field soil mixed with water to create small, cup-shaped containers about 4 cm tall. Arrange them neatly on the seedbed and add a small amount of compound fertilizer. Then, press a small hole in the center of each cup, place the unsoaked seeds flat, and cover them with a thin layer of moist soil. Apply 2 kg of magic pen and 2 grams of fried rice sugar around each cup to prevent pests. Finally, cover the cups with bamboo arches and double-layer shade nets to maintain moisture and protect from rain.
3. Seedling management:
- Ventilation: After sowing for 2–3 days, when the seeds germinate, remove the net during the day and cover it at night or during rain.
- Watering: When the soil becomes dry, spray clean water in the morning and evening to keep it moist. Avoid waterlogging by ensuring proper drainage.
- Transplanting: Once the seedlings have 2 leaves and 1 heart (about 5–7 days after sowing), they can be transplanted.
Third, field management:
1. Base fertilizer: Apply 1000–1500 kg of well-rotted manure mixed with 25–30 kg of superphosphate per acre. Spread the mixture when preparing the field or at transplanting points.
2. Planting density and watering: Plant two rows per hole, with spacing of 0.3–0.35 meters between plants and 0.4–0.5 meters between rows, totaling around 3000 plants per acre. Water immediately after transplanting, and mix 80% pesticide into the water to control early pests.
3. Scientific fertilization:
- 2–3 days after planting, apply 5 kg of urea mixed with 10 liters of compost tea per acre, every 5–7 days.
- After 12 days of planting, apply 15 kg of imported compound fertilizer per acre next to each plant.
- During the 5–6 leaf stage, apply 10 kg of compound fertilizer + 10 kg of phosphate powder + 2.5 kg each of urea and potassium chloride.
- During the 8–9 leaf stage, apply 7.5 kg of urea + 10 kg of compound fertilizer + 5 kg of potassium chloride, and incorporate it into the soil between rows.
- At 12–14 leaves, apply 15 kg of compound fertilizer + 10 kg of potassium chloride + 5 kg of phosphate powder.
4. Spraying CCC: When the plants have 8–9 leaves, apply CCC to promote dwarf and strong growth.
5. Tiller removal: This variety produces many tillers, so remove them as soon as they appear. After tasseling, only leave the top silks and remove the rest.
Fourth, pest and disease control:
1. Corn borers and aphids: Spray 1 package of Jinyun wettable powder per mu. In the big bell stage, mix 2 packages with 10 kg of fine sand and sprinkle into the ear.
2. Sheath blight: Remove yellow and diseased leaves first, then spray Jinggangmycin at 8–10 packets per 100 kg of water, repeating 2–3 times.
3. Leaf spot: Spray a 500-fold solution during the big bell mouth to pollination period.
Fifth, timely harvesting: Harvest 20–28 days after pollination, when the silks turn dark and the kernels are fully yellow and plump.
