American scientists first developed "cold nerves"
For the first time, the research team led by Dr. David McKemy of the University of Southern California visualizes the “cold fiber” that senses warm and cold. The results of the study were published in the December 19 issue of the Journal of Neuroscience.
"Cold fiber" extends from neurons near the spinal cord to the ends of the skin's nerves to feel different types of "cold". The fiber is able to return to a position in the neuron where a protein called TRPM8 delivers a cold signal to the spinal cord and then to the brain. Dr. David McKemy explained that in reality, no one really saw a special cold fiber. McKemy's research solved this problem by using genetically engineered mice. The neurons of this mouse express the TRPM8 protein carrying a fluorescent marker. This fluorescent marker illuminates these fibers. McKemy's study provides the first image of a cold-seen, TRPM8-expressing neuron. Previous studies have confirmed that mice lacking TRPM8 lose their ability to feel cold.
It is understood that one of the purposes of the study is to understand the molecular mechanisms of sensation and hope to develop more effective and safe drugs for relieving chronic pain. ——China Medicine 123 Network

Dried Chrysanthemum

Origin in Ningxia, China. This is a kind of traditional tea makers in Chinese tea culture. According to traditional Chinese medicine, chrysanthemums produce energy that targets the liver, spleen, kidneys, and lungs.
