The fall of raising the reserve hen attention

The early fall season is the first production period for the hens. The quality of the chickens in this period is directly related to the economic benefits of chicken production. Therefore, to ensure the laying hens' performance, the following technical management points should be made:

Replace the transition material. Feeding 20-week-old hens to pre-lay eggs is also called transitional feed. The calcium content of the feed was 1% and the crude protein was 16.5%. Gradually change it to prevent chicken diarrhea. When the egg production rate reaches 2% to 6%, the calcium content of the feed should be 3.4% to 3.5%, and the crude protein should be 18%.

Strictly control the temperature of the house. The optimum temperature for laying eggs for chickens is 18°C. If the temperature is too high or too low, the nutrients needed to maintain the needs will increase. When the temperature is lower than 13°C, it will affect the growth and egg production of laying hens. Therefore, if the temperature of the broiler house is too low and feeding is not done in time, the chickens will postpone production due to lack of energy. In the fall of high temperatures, the feed intake of laying hens is reduced. If the proportion of protein in the diet is not increased in time, it will affect the development of the chicken's reproductive system and delay the opening date.

Adjust relative humidity and ventilation. The relative humidity of the chicken house is required to be 55% to 65%. After 4 weeks of age, it can be reduced to about 50%. The humidity should not be too high. Otherwise, the chicks will suffer from poor appetite and frail health. This delays sexual maturity and delays production. If the ventilation is poor, the air The increase in harmful gases, increased humidity, reduced oxygen levels, will make the reserve hens stunted and postponed the opening date.

Lighting control and adjustment. Reserve hens generally enter sexual maturity at the age of 15 weeks, during which time the natural light is gradually reduced. The shorter illumination time and the longer it takes for sexual maturation, the more light should be added after 15 weeks of age to meet the need for sexual maturity. The light should not be too strong to prevent the occurrence of embarrassment such as chicken feathers and licking. The initial lighting time for laying hens ranges from 13 to 17 hours a day.

Provide enough clean drinking water. First-time hens are in great need of drinking water. Generally, a hen needs about 100 grams of water every day. Therefore, laying hens must not be short of water every day. It is best to use a flow sink for water supply, and also to supply 2 to 3 times a week of dilute brine to increase the broiler's constitution and increase feed intake. You can also feed carrots or greens to increase protein levels.
