national standards of People's Republic of China

GB/T 6545—1998 Method for determination of burst strength of corrugated board

Corrugated fibreboard—Determination of bursting strength

1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the burst strength of corrugated board by the hydraulic increase method.

This standard applies to corrugated cardboard with a bursting resistance of 350 to 5500 kPa.

2 Reference standard

The provisions contained in the following standards constitute provisions of this standard by reference in this standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards will be revised and parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest version of the following standards.

GB 450-89 paper and cardboard samples taken

GB 10739—89 Standard atmosphere for processing and testing of pulp, paper and board samples

3 definition

This standard uses the following definition.

Bursting strength

Under the test conditions, the corrugated board can withstand a uniform maximum pressure per unit area perpendicular to the surface of the sample.

4 Test principle

Place the sample on the film, clamp it with the sample holder, and apply pressure evenly so that the sample and the film are free to bulge until the sample breaks. The sample burst strength is the maximum value of the applied hydraulic pressure.

5 test equipment

5.1 Sample chuck system

The diameter of the upper chuck is (31.5±0.5) mm, and the diameter of the lower chuck is (31.5±0.5) mm. The upper and lower clamp rings should be concentric, and the maximum error should not exceed 0.25mm. The two clamping rings are parallel and flat to each other. The contact surface is evenly stressed during the measurement.

In order to prevent the sample from slipping during the measurement, the sample chuck should have a clamping force of not less than 690 kPa. However, such pressure generally causes the corrugation of the specimen to collapse and should be noted in the report.

5.2 film

The film is round and composed of an elastic material. The film is held firmly, and its upper surface is about 5.5 mm lower than the top surface of the lower clamp ring. The material and structure of the film shall be such that the height of the lower surface of the film protrudes from the elastic resistance, that is, when the protrusion height is 10 mm, the resistance range is (170 to 220) kPa; when the protrusion is 18 mm, the resistance range is It is (250 ~ 350) kPa.

6 sample taking and treatment

6.1 The sample shall be taken in accordance with the provisions of GB 450.

6.2 The sample shall be subjected to temperature and humidity treatment in accordance with the provisions of GB 10739.

7 Preparation of samples

The area of the sample must be larger than the chuck of the burst tester. The sample must not have watermarks, creases or obvious damage. Do not use specimens that have been pressed by the chuck during the test.

8 test steps

Proof and test under the atmospheric conditions specified in 6.2.

Open the chuck of the sample, clamp the sample in the middle of the two sample chucks, and then start the analyzer to gradually increase the pressure at (170 ± 15) mL / min. When the sample is blasted, read the value indicated on the pressure gauge. Then release the chuck and return the reading pointer to the starting position. The data should be discarded when the sample has a significant slip.

9 results indicate

The measurement was carried out on each of the ten samples attached to the film on the front and back sides, and the arithmetic mean value (kPa) of all the measured values was expressed.

The main difference between the two:

High-pressure burst strength instrument for paperboard, low-pressure burst strength instrument for paper.

The motor is different, the upper and lower pressure plates are different, the rubber film is different, and the oil pressure rate is different. The other is the same!

1. Usually cardboard and kraft paper (hanger paper) is a high pressure burst strength tester with a speed of (170 ± 15) mL / min;

The paper test instrument is a low pressure tester with a speed of 96 ± 6 mL / min.

2. The chuck size of the high pressure burst strength tester is slightly larger than the low pressure tester!
