Winter Coral, scientifically known as *Solanaceae pseudocapsicum*, is a unique and attractive evergreen shrub that adds vibrant color to indoor or outdoor spaces. This plant typically grows to a height of 20 to 40 cm, making it ideal for pots or small garden areas. Its long, glossy green leaves provide a nice contrast to the colorful berries that appear throughout the year. Habitat & Origin

Native to South America, particularly Brazil, Winter Coral thrives in warm and sunny environments. It prefers well-drained soil and requires consistent moisture without being waterlogged. This plant is commonly grown as an ornamental in gardens or as a potted plant indoors, especially in regions with milder climates.

Propagation and Cultivation

Winter Coral can be propagated through both seed sowing and stem cuttings. When starting from seeds, mix peat soil with sand to create a well-draining medium. Keep the soil moist and maintain a temperature between 20–25°C for optimal germination, which usually takes around 10–15 days. Once the seedlings are established, regular watering and proper fertilization are essential. Fertilize every two weeks, and increase the use of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) fertilizers 2–3 times before the flowering period to promote healthy fruit development. Pruning or topping the plants at an early stage helps encourage bushier growth and better flowering. In summer, it’s advisable to provide some shade to protect the plant from intense sunlight. During winter, ensure the temperature does not drop below 10°C to prevent damage. With proper care, Winter Coral can thrive year-round, offering a beautiful and long-lasting display of color.
